A few years ago, I began trading busyness and a lifestyle I had grown used to for something different... a new rhythm. Music has always been my passion, guitar has always been my escape, and I knew teaching was something I loved. Soon I would quit a weekly pay check and a calling, change just about everything I knew as familiar and began to live in a rhythm that was right for me. That's when Intune Rhythm began!
I'm a wife and a mom-We have 2 beautiful children by adoption. My children turned my world upside down - they made me stay present in the moment and learn to make room for simple joys. And they've given me a brand new appreciation for soccer and horses! Occasionally, you may catch my husband, Marcus, and I playing music together when life and hobbies allow. (check out his knife making skills over one Instagram @marcus.justone) On Sunday mornings I lead music with some great folks and a couple of mornings a week I leave the studio to go teach music at a local preschool. I LOVE this life!
Being in tune is having a moment of clarity. Sometime it is simply the art of noticing. And rhythm is simply the combination of repeated sounds and silences. What a life lesson music gives us. This is how I choose to live my life now. My music and Intune Rhythm is my way of finding joy and being as authentic as I can be. I hope InTune Rhythm gives a way of connecting people with joy, and gives people ways to express themselves, too. I believe it takes lots of bravery to be a student - to sit down in front of someone you don't know and be open to be taught. When we just show up, good things happen.
Why the dragonfly in the logo? The dragonfly has symbolized happiness and new beginnings for centuries. So here at InTune Rhythm, it was only fitting to invite that thought to encourage students to enter or continue their musical journeys!
